Andar Bahar is one of the oldest and simplest card games in South Asia. One card is turned over, and you bet on which side of the table will receive a card of the same rank. No hand totals, no rankings, just a race. We cannot say which Andar Bahar tables L89 runs, because the live lobby needs a login and the providers we saw named on 5 November 2026 were JDB and BTi. Here is how the game works in general.
The flow of a round
The dealer shows a single card, often called the joker. Bets are placed on Andar (inside) or Bahar (outside). Cards are then dealt one at a time to Andar and Bahar alternately until a card matches the rank of the joker. The side that receives it wins.
Which side is dealt first can change slightly the chance of winning, so many tables adjust the payout on one side to balance it out. This is why Andar and Bahar may pay differently.
- Joker card sets the target rank
- Cards alternate between the sides
- First match decides the round
Bets and payouts
The main bets are Andar and Bahar. Some tables add side bets such as the number of cards dealt before the match, or which card will be the joker. These extras have varying payouts and typically a larger edge. Read each table's rules, since the exact payouts differ.
| Bet | Idea | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Andar | Match lands on the inside | Payout may differ from Bahar |
| Bahar | Match lands on the outside | Payout may differ from Andar |
| Side bets | Number of cards, joker rank | Check table rules |
Managing quick rounds
With no complex decisions, rounds come rapidly. A neat rule is to set a maximum number of rounds per session and a loss limit, and respect both. Watching long runs on a single side is entertaining but not predictive; the cards have no memory.
If you enjoy the regional card feel, you might also like Teen Patti, which adds hand rankings. For a similar head-to-head format with different cards, try Dragon Tiger.
